Lock Administrator Domain Vcenter Appliance
I have vcenter appliance joined to active directory for authetication.
Now my domain user (in this case administrator) it is locked.
From shell vcenter appliance :
srvvcenter5:~ # faillog -u Domain\administrator
Login Failures Maximum Latest On
Domainadministrator 17 0 09/18/12 10:01:05 +0200 unknown
I want reset Failures count :
srvvcenter5:~ # pam_tally –user Domain\administrator –reset
User Domainadministrator (1331692020) had 17
and now:
srvvcenter5:~ # faillog -u Domain\administrator

Prova Data Protection for VMware Tape Support Statement
Ho fatto una prova di restore di un singolo file di una VM windows 2003 backuppate con VE di TSM.
L’attuale infrastruttuara e’ la seguente:
Ho provato inizialmente in restore di un file di una VM appena backuppata per cui il backup risiede su storage pool FILE e il restore e’ stato rapido e indolore.
Ma cosa devo fare per restorare un file di una VM il cui backup e’ stato migrato (per ragioni di spazio) su un storagepool su TAPE?
Basandomi su questo link IBM TSM VE su TAPE ho fatto i seguenti step:
-Fermato il servizio “DATA Protection for VMware Mount “
– Scaricato dal link presente nel sito IBM sopra indicato il SW per modifica del file TDPVMwareMount.conf, presente sul server window su cui e’ installato il software VE:
E impostato i seguenti parametri:
– Riavviato il servizio
Dopo effettuato il classico mount come se fosse il backup su storagepool a file utilizzando il sw del DATA Protecion per vmware :
Questa operazione ovviamente richiede molto piu’ tempo (nel caso di un STGPOOL FILE il mount e’ immediato, su tape richiede nel mio caso anche 10-20 minuti) di un restore di un file di una VM backuppata su storage pool FILE.
Ricordate alla fine di rimetterea posto i settaggi modificati con il tool tapemode.
Fare un yum repository con il cdrom di redhat 6

Aggiungere uan stringa alla fine di ogni riga di un file utilzzando awk :
awk ‘ { print $0″Testo da aggiungere” } ‘ myfile >> newfile

Delete old device post P2V (VMWARE)
For view old device after P2V windows server :
From command line set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
Start device manager and select View –> Show Hidden Device

Password di rete specificata non corretta.
For resolve the problem i need change a security policy :
Start from command line –> secpol.msc
select Sicurezza di rete: livello di autenticazione Lan Manager
and change from :
to:
now i try to connect samba share:
C:Usersxxxx>net use \10.1.1.209scambio /user:dominiousername password
Esecuzione comando riuscita.
